Hey, I’m Pete, a Melbourne marriage celebrant and MC who creates relaxed, chilled out and easy-going wedding ceremonies.
Your ceremony should be the highlight that starts your wedding day where your friends and family will be in stitches and tears as I share your story in an authentic and engaging way, hilarious yet with sentiment.
Equally, preparing the ceremony can be an easy experience and with me it looks like this:
Confirm I’m the celebrant for you by watching weddings I’ve officiated on YouTube, reading reviews from happy couples, and tuning into my Wedding Guide Podcast, before choosing who will stand with you to MC your special day.
Whether it’s at a bar or over Zoom, we’ll start the legal documents that I handle from beginning to end. Once I learn your story, I’ll craft the behind-the-scenes writing for your unique ceremony. After you review it, I’ll memorise it and be ready for your wedding day.
Get ready Muriel, the ceremony will be better than what you hoped for; natural, entertaining and engaging. I’ll look and sound like your good mate that none of your real friends have ever met - until today.
I’d love to hear your story over a drink and guide you in making this ceremony unique and personal.
Wedding Planning just got simple.
Learn from freshly wed couples and incredible wedding suppliers/professionals as they help you navigate and plan your celebration.
Guided by your host, Pete The Celebrant, we’ll learn about them, their experiences and advice on how to create your big day while avoiding common mistakes.

Pete was an amazing celebrant — professional from the first emails through to after the big day. He listened closely, created a ceremony that suited us, and on the day was friendly, witty, and calming. Everything ran smoothly, and we had such a fun, memorable wedding thanks to him. We’d recommend Pete to anyone looking for a celebrant who truly delivers.
Pete was easily our most complimented wedding vendor – our guests absolutely loved him! Throughout the whole process Pete was so easy to deal with and a huge help on our wedding day, far beyond his role as our celebrant/MC. Thanks Pete!
Pete pulled our ceremony off better than we could have imagined. Calm, authentic and real, he told our story with laughter, tears and love. Guests thought he must have been a close friend with the way he spoke. He made us feel seen and celebrated, and our wedding was one to remember. Book Pete — he’s everything you’d want in a celebrant.

I’ll help you with your wedding vows right now. here’s a document that covers all the legal stuff and pages of samples for personal vows. You’ve got this! If you want me to double check them, I’d be more than happy to – just email them through to pe**@******************om.au
A civil marriage ceremony usually takes 20-30 minutes. However, that also depends if you want to add personal readings or some form of cultural traditions. There are a few things we can change with the order of service to achieve your desired time.
That being said, I’d recommend giving yourself at least 30-45 mins on your Wedding Day runsheet as I’ve heard some people can be late.
We meet 3-4 months before the ceremony date to sign legal documents and go over your story.
Once I put your story together you’ll have a chance to read it beforehand and make any changes you’d like.
We then meet online for a runthrough to talk about all the finer details.
Then on the day all you need to do it arrive, get to the end of the aisle and I’ll take it from there.
You can choose two witnesses who are over 18 and understand the service and decision that you’re making. They don’t need to be Australian citizens and infact you don’t even have to know them or even like them. They’re simply there to sign and say “yep, they did say the legal vows”.
Preferably, I’d recommend choosing people who you really value in life.
Assuming it’s not a naturalist wedding ceremony (where I’d wear a tie), I’ll will make sure that I blend in with your wedding party.
So if you’re wearing tux, I’ll be in a black suit and tie. If the groom is in navy, I’ll wear a beige and navy tie. If the bridesmaids are in green, I’ll wear a green jacket.
I won’t look like a groomsmen, but I will look like I’m supposed to be there.
As a Master of Ceremonies (MC), I become the familiar face for all your wedding guests throughout the whole day whom they build trust with right from the start. It also allows your uncle or mate to enjoy the wedding while I run around keeping an eye on time and helping update all your suppliers.
